Also, it’s important to note that while the lion quote has been widely attributed to St. Augustine, it’s not clear that he actually said or wrote it. A similar quote is being attributed to someone else:

“The Word of God is like a lion. You don’t have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself.” – Charles Spurgeon

Regardless of who said it, the point is still valid and contrasts Pope Francis’s exhortation nicely. So does this quote by St. Catherine of Siena: “We’ve had enough of exhortations to be silent! Cry out with a hundred thousand tongues. I see the world is rotten because of silence.”
