1. “Follow your heart.”
Jesus never said that. Christ said instead “Follow me,” (Matthew 4:19) because “The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 16:9)
2. “Be true to yourself.”
Christ never said that. Instead, He said the opposite: “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)
3. “Believe in yourself.”
Rather, Christ said to believe in Him: “Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me.” (John 14:1)
4. “Live your truth!”
Our Lord said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
5. “As long as you are happy, that’s all that matters.”
This isn’t a Christian concept either for Christ said, “For what doth it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?” (Mark 8:36)
