A public school teacher and parent in Indiana has been fired after exposing political and moral indoctrination at her school.
Jennifer McWilliams started Purple for Parents Indiana to combat the national Red for Ed campaign designed to further politicize schools. One of the programs that Red for Ed pushes is social emotional learning (SEL), the purpose of which is to give children an identity and a purpose as outlined by governmental bureaucrats. Critics say they want to transform education from academic content instruction to molding and assessing children’s attitudes, mindsets, and behaviors.
The concern is that these programs are designed to diminish the concept of objective truth and to turn kids into leftist political agents who adhere to politically correct campaigns of climate change, gender fluidity, and state socialism. This is a difficult task when teaching geometry, for instance, but is much easier to indoctrinate through nebulous subjects like “relationship skills” and “social awareness”.
Jennifer said that she posted an article questioning her school’s SEL program, likely the below post:
As a result she was fired for, “making [school administrators] look bad and… being untruthful.”
“I am a teacher who was just fired for standing up for parental rights. Please help me by spreading this video and bring awareness to the indoctrination of child,” Jennifer said.
A GoFundMe has been set up to support Jennifer in her cause.
