Last week, the WHO claimed a pandemic situation because of COVID-19. At March 19 5pm, there had been more of 230,000 reported cases, according to Worldometers. The first countries to be hit hard were China, Iran, Italy, Spain, Germany and the USA.

By and large, the trend is ascendant -despite the logarithmic progression is not the same in all the “affected countries”. Only South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong could manage to tackle the situation immediately.

Meanwhile, many Western countries -European and American- are more interested in establishing total or partial lockdowns of their own countries. Some examples of those “massive forced quarantines” may be seen in Spain, Italy, and Argentina.

Surprisingly, the same elites who blamed those governments and parties in favor of border security -for instance, the Hungarian government opposition to “rapefugees” and the so-called Trump’s Wallare not condemning the aforementioned measures during the COVID-19 crisis.

Nevertheless, the aim of this article is not a mere analysis of the biological origins of the virus and/or the measures that have been carried out by different countries. We will focus on a “hidden” and non-biological but ideological phenomenon -to be metaphorically regarded as a virus.

The Revolution sweeps around the West

What is politically regarded as the Revolution should be regarded as a process to erode the God-given-and-created natural order. We are undergoing its fourth phase -based on cultural Marxist ideologies; the previous ones were the Lutheran, the French, and the Soviet ones.

There is no such a good or positive revolutionary process. It is the advancement of the Evil by means of artificial entity that we name “the State”. As Jesús Huerta de Soto libertarian economist pointed out, that is the incarnation of the Devil.

As the State grows, society weakens. We see how the government tends to grow whilst smaller communities and families progressively lose their power and autonomy. At the same time, with some remarkable exceptions, markets are considerably overregulated.

Welfare State promotes values as hedonism, short-term mindset, and irresponsibility; so, people ends up believing in the government as a diety.

COVID-19 as a chance for globalism and socialism

Though I am not an expert in the field of medicine, I will not deny that people should take care of themselves in order to keep healthy during this crisis. Although most affected individuals finally recover, fragility normally depends on age and propagation intensity is not lower than in the case of SARS.

People should be responsible for the sake of “common good”. Those who have symptoms of coronavirus should stay isolated or take precautions such as the use of special face-masks whereas the rest of people should thoroughly wash their hands.

If necessary, medical testing should be a somehow frequent process.

However, I find little or no reason to take advantage of the situation to absolutely shut down a society -economy, daily routine, freedom of movement… So, why do they that?

On the financial and economic side, a recession is coming—at least in the Eurozone. It is a result of the continuous reduction of low interest rates and the artificial expansion of monetary supply. Besides, some governments are incurring in high debt.

Apart from that, there is an interest in building a single global government. The erosion of local traditions and the attacks to the principle of subsidiarity are a key to achieve that goal. Trade agreements—not “free trade”—also play a relevant role.

Naturally, those trying to consolidate power would take advantage of and perhaps encourage a global economic shutdown to create compliant people. They need to take advantage of the “false insecurity” that may justify the extension of the government power. For that reason, the situation of “pandemic” is a good chance for them.

Finally, we should be wary of the existence of a kind of socialism that is based on social engineering. They will take advantage of mass media and censorship mechanisms to continue with their revolutionary plans. If we are irresponsible and dominated by the agitprop, defeat is highly likely.
